I think that may be a touch excessive. Rorty had his moments, certainly, but these were mainly polemical and involved reformulating thoughts he found elsewhere. This is something he would freely admit, describing himself as a mere ‘under-labourer’ drawing out some strands of Davidson, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, etc. That was modest of him, but it is not wildly inaccurate.
He died right when I was really getting into his stuff. His impact will be felt for millenia.
